Responsibilities
  • Create and oversee an employee training schedule that emphasizes productivity and resource conservation
  • Evaluate each station of the manufacturing process to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures (both in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job
  • Assume responsibility for manufacturing and shipping processes in the plant
  • Inspect products prior to shipment to ensure accurate labeling and record keeping
  • Maintain open lines of communication between employees, management, and executives
  • Ensure all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly
  • Coordinate production activities and special projects
  • Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Supervise production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures
Primary Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate department activities and special projects to ensure quality and meet timetables
  • Evaluate department processes, recommend and coordinate needed changes based on process analysis
  • Direct staff in the development, analysis, and preparation of reports
  • Make sure all duties are completed from the day before, use the Warehouse Supply Technician - Duties Checklist (form CS-4041)
  • Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Make sure plant workers are on time and working at their station
  • Alert HR to any and all truancies and absences via email
  • Document what was not completed that should have been
  • Assist staff to resolve complex or out-of-policy operation problems
  • Observe and document anyone who is not at their work station ready to work on time
  • Coordinate all lunches and breaks, document abuses
  • Assist in conducting interviews, train new staff, and provide employee orientation
  • Coach and provide career development advice to staff
  • Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews
  • Responsible for staff scheduling to include work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations
  • Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels
  • Schedule and conduct staff meetings
  • Responsible to meet department productivity and quality goals
  • Communicate with other Supervisors and Managers
  • Serve on committees and teams as department representative
  • Complete human resource paperwork as needed by that office
  • Train and review inventory control to maintain proper levels of raw materials and finished goods to fill orders as needed
  • Keep accurate records of inventory per the tracker and daily production sheets
  • Ensure all shipping and receiving paperwork is turned in and signed
  • Oversee product startups, shut downs and changeovers
  • Communicate with each QC and maintenance mechanics so that all procedures are followed and all machines are maintained in proper order
