American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele experience and TN or compact RN licensure.

• Medical Surgical unit with 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-7:00)
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 schedules available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units as needed
• Travelers do not administer chemotherapy
• Epic charting system preferred

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required (AHA is the only accepted form)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Med/Surg/Tele experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and respiratory care (nasal cannula, oral suctioning)
• Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience managing insulin and PCA medications

• Must reside 100 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules, averaging 4-5 non-billable hours
• Relias EKG testing required for all specialties, to be completed within 72 hours of signing
• Drug testing must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start, with possible second lab visit if needed
• Fit testing requires facial hair to be trimmed or removed per CDC guidelines
• Contract nursing team members support nursing student clinical education alongside patient care duties
• Preferred skills include blood product administration, central/PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and wound care/wound vac
