A growing and progressive accountancy firm in Southampton is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a varied portfolio of clients and gain hands-on responsibility in a supportive and collaborative environment.
You'll be working alongside Audit Managers to deliver high-quality audit services to owner-managed businesses and corporate clients, while continuing to build your technical expertise and client-facing experience. The role offers excellent progression opportunities and a strong focus on personal and professional development.
Key Responsibilities- Leading audit fieldwork at client sites and in the office
- Preparing deliverables including Audit Findings Reports
- Planning audit assignments, including budgeting and analytical review
- Ensuring audit files are complete for manager review
- Supervising and reviewing the work of junior staff
- Attending stock takes and supporting compliance work
- Preparing statutory accounts under IFRS, FRS 102 and FRS 102 1A using IRIS
- Identifying and resolving technical issues
- Developing commercial understanding of client businesses
- Working with other departments to support broader client needs
- Sharing knowledge and best practice across the audit team
- Attending ongoing training and, if applicable, working towards a professional qualification
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in audit within a practice environment
- ACA / ACCA / AAT qualified or actively studying
- Strong technical understanding of UK GAAP, ISAs, and Companies Act
- Experience with owner-managed businesses is highly beneficial
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- A positive, proactive approach with a focus on high-quality client service
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to travel to client sites)
- Full study support for ACA / ACCA (if required)
