Leicestershire - Growing Accountancy Practice

I'm working with a well-established and rapidly growing accountancy practice in Leicestershire that is looking to appoint an Audit & Accounts Semi Senior as part of its next phase of growth.

This is a broad, hands‑on role offering genuine exposure across audit, statutory accounts and commercial advisory, ideal for someone looking to accelerate their development within practice rather than be pigeon‑holed.

The Audit & Accounts Semi Senior Role in Leicestershire

The position offers a balanced and varied workload, approximately:

  • 40% Audit – supporting and delivering statutory audit assignments
  • 40% Accounts – preparing statutory financial statements for a diverse SME client base
  • 20% Commercial & Advisory – involvement in budgeting, forecasting and client‑facing advisory work

You’ll work with a range of clients from micro entities through to medium‑sized businesses, as well as partnerships and sole traders, gaining exposure to both compliance and value‑add services.

Key responsibilities for the Audit & Accounts Semi Senior include:
  • Preparation of statutory accounts in line with professional standards
  • Assisting with audit planning, fieldwork and completion
  • Supporting tax compliance and planning work
  • Analysing financial information and contributing to client advice
  • Assisting with new business tenders & proposals.
  • Working closely with clients and senior team members to deliver high‑quality outputs
The Ideal Profile
  • Experience with in UK accountancy practice at Semi Senior level
  • Exposure to both accounts preparation and audit assignments
  • Strong attention to detail with a practical, commercial mindset
  • Confident using accounting software and MS Office (particularly Excel)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of UK accounting and basic tax principles
