Godfrey Wilson is an award‑winning charity‑specialist practice in Bristol providing audit and accountancy services to over 300 charities, non‑profit organisations, small limited companies and sole traders around the UK and we are currently looking for a Trainee Accountancy Assistant.

Alongside work‑based training within bookkeeping, payroll, tax and accounting the successful candidate would receive support studying towards their AAT qualification.

We have a track record of developing and progressing talent internally and following the completion of your qualification we will continue to support you with further development and career progression.

About you. We are looking for someone who wants to become an excellent accountant:

Education and Experience:

  • No prior accountancy experience is necessary; however previous experience in an office environment or client facing role is desirable;
  • Five GCSEs, including English and Maths at grade B / Level 5 or above or equivalent qualifications/experience desirable.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Ambitious, with a desire to learn, progress and take on responsibility;
  • both verbal and written;
  • Problem‑solving
  • ability to quickly analyse large amounts of information/data and demonstrate clear, logical thinking;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Strong team‑working
  • ability to work collaboratively to achieve a shared goal;
  • Good time management and organisation
  • ability to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines; and
  • Ability to work flexibly, including travel to client sites when necessary.
