Your new role Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will take responsibility for a broad range of financial accounting duties across UK and Irish entities. This is a hands-on role that will suit an accountant who enjoys working across transactional finance, reporting, controls and audit activities. Key responsibilities will include:
Maintaining the general ledger, purchase ledger and sales ledger. Managing accruals, prepayments and monthly accounting adjustments. Performing stock reconciliations and posting relevant journal entries. Completing monthly bank reconciliations. Processing and reconciling staff expenses. Recording daily cash receipts and payments. Preparing UK and Ireland VAT returns for external review and submission. Producing monthly financial reports for senior management and group stakeholders.
Supporting quarterly consolidations and group reporting requirements. Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting. Assisting with year-end audit preparation and responding to auditor requests. Ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and group procedures. Collaborating with international colleagues to support finance best practice and process improvements. What you'll need to succeed Degree-qualified or equivalent accounting qualification/experience. Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial processes.
Previous experience within a Financial Accountant or Assistant Accountant role. Experience preparing management reports and balance sheet reconciliations. Working knowledge of VAT returns and audit preparation. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a small team environment. An inquisitive and proactive approach to problem-solving. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels.
