Senior Accountant – Agriculture & Landed Estates - Bristol / Southwest - £41,000+ - Hybrid / Flexible

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with practice-based accountancy experience and an interest in working with agricultural, rural and land based businesses. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist team where you will work directly with farming and rural clients, developing long-term relationships while providing a broad range of accountancy, taxation and business advisory services. Candidates who are already qualified, as well as those currently studying towards ACA, ACCA, AAT or another relevant accountancy qualification, will be considered.

• Prepare and review annual accounts, tax returns and VAT returns
• Manage bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial reports
• Provide accountancy, financial and tax advice to agricultural and rural clients
• Identify tax-planning opportunities and areas for business development
• Liaise with HMRC where required
• Assist with inheritance tax and capital gains tax matters
• Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients
• Visit farms and rural businesses to gain a practical understanding of their operations
• Attend agricultural events, local markets and other relevant industry events.
• Work closely with farming and rural businesses to help them manage, plan and grow their finances

The business works closely with farming and rural clients, providing a combination of accountancy, taxation and commercial advice to help them manage their finances, plan effectively and develop their businesses.

• ACA, ACCA, AAT or another relevant accountancy qualification, or be actively working towards one
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice
• Good knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance
• An interest in agriculture, farming and rural businesses
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Confidence dealing directly with clients
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and use initiative

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
