Kingswood Health Centre is seeking to employ a new part-time Practice Receptionist.

The role is for 22 hpw to be worked Monday 1pm-7pm, Tuesday 8am-1pm, Wednesday 8am-1pm and Friday 1pm-7pm.

Job responsibilities

Practice Receptionists are the first point of contact for our patients and a key source of support for our clinical team. They manage our online systems, arrange appointments, deal with prescription requests, action tasks and requests from the clinicians, assist in the coordination of home visits and provide a professional front of house service.

The successful candidate will receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service. They will undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the team. They will facilitate effective communication between patients, staff and other health and social care colleagues.

At Kingswood Health Centre we have a predominantly online method of patient access so Reception staff duties rotate between answering/making calls, processing requests made online or covering the front desk. We believe this way of working is good for wellbeing and offers variety in the role.

Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
Experience
  • Customer service experience, Experience of working in a team, Experience of working with telephone-based systems
Skills & Knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, Good IT skills to include Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.) Analytical and problem‑solving skills, Sensitivity, tact and diplomacy, Excellent interpersonal skills and the Ability to prioritise tasks
  • Experience of the EMIS Web Clinical System
Other
  • An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality, Able to work under pressure, Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs, Hard working, Reliable, Honest, Pleasant and approachable and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
