Job: Technical EV Support Specialist (Automotive)

Location: UK – Port-Based (Bristol Portbury)

Salary: Up to £60,000 basic + 15% bonus potential

Hours: Monday to Friday

We are working with a fast-growing automotive organisation entering and expanding within the UK market, and we are looking to appoint a Technical EV Support Specialist to support vehicle operations at key port locations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong automotive professional with EV experience to take ownership of vehicle quality, diagnostics, and on-site technical support within a high-volume logistics environment.

The Role

As Technical EV Support Specialist, you will take full responsibility for ensuring all vehicles processed through port terminals meet required quality and compliance standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency, supporting suppliers, and resolving technical challenges on-site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) process at port locations, ensuring strict adherence to vehicle storage and inspection standards
  • Oversee EV high-voltage safety checks, battery condition monitoring, and controlled charging processes
  • Provide hands‑on technical support, including diagnostics and complex fault resolution on-site
  • Deliver technical guidance and coaching to 3rd party workshop and inspection teams
  • Take ownership of urgent vehicle quality issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and delivery schedules
  • Monitor and manage vehicle rework, repair progress, and defect rectification to meet turnaround targets
  • Maintain accurate quality records and warranty submissions via internal systems
  • Produce regular performance and fault analysis reports, identifying trends and recommending improvements
  • Ensure supplier compliance with processes, standards, and reporting requirements

About You
  • Fully qualified automotive technician with strong hands‑on diagnostic experience
  • Proven experience working with EVs and high-voltage systems (certification essential)
  • Background in OEM, dealership, aftersales, or port operations highly desirable
  • Confident using automotive diagnostic tools, OEM systems, and workshop equipment
  • Strong Excel skills for tracking, reporting, and analysis
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, operational environment
  • Effective communicator, capable of managing supplier relationships and performance
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and data accuracy
