The Workforce Development Trust is a not-for-profit organisation that provides services that support employers to develop skilled, sustainable, and efficient work forces in the UK and abroad. We operate via our four brands;
Skills for Health, Skills for Justice, SFJ Awards, iCQ Awards and People 1st International, which deliver specialist, targeted skills interventions to support a variety of frontline public services.
The role includes varied work across a range of bid values and submission types. Working with senior stakeholders across The Workforce Development Trust (WDT) brands. Your contributions will be instrumental in winning work which aligns with WDT’s values and priorities.
An individual will thrive in this role if they are organised, detail orientated, value accuracy, and are comfortable working towards multiple tight deadlines in conjunction with the Bid Manager.
The Bid Coordinator will support the Bid Manager with:
- The preparation, coordination and submission of responses to Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Invitations to Tender (ITTs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPSs), Framework submission processes, etc.
- The coordination and operation of bid procedures, processes and systems
- Proofreading, editing and writing of responses
- The regular maintenance of bidding documentation and the bid library.

. This is because bids and tenders form a key part of public sector purchasing. In this role you will work with our Bid Manager and passionate Subject Matter Experts to support the preparation, coordination, writing, and submission of winning bids and tender responses for WDT.
Key skills for this role include:
- Organisation and coordination - to provide effective support in successful coordinating multiple tenders.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy - Enabling you to dissect and analyse text to support compliance with customer requirements.
- High standards of written English, grammar, and storytelling - To support the development of winning responses which place the customer at the centre of the narrative.
Work is varied and takes place across a wide range of contract values and types of submissions
. Daily work on tenders includes supporting activities, such as, coordination, compliance checking, proofreading, bid set up, research, editing and writing. Additionally, you will support activities to develop the efficiency and excellence of the bidding function. For example, making amendments to the bid library, recording reflections on lessons learnt from feedback, and conducting research to gather competitor intelligence.

One day you could be collaborating with our workforce planning team to craft a bid for the police force and another day you could be supporting our learning team’s application to provide training for an NHS Trust.
