We're looking for a commercially astute and strategically minded Insight Manager to lead category insight across our Soups & Sauces and Food Service portfolios - two of our key growth categories. This is a pivotal role within our Category Strategy & Insight team, working cross-functionally to turn data into action and insight into growth. The Role Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Insight, you will become the go-to expert on category direction, consumer behaviour and market performance.
Using internal performance data, market intelligence, competitor analysis and consumer insight, you will shape and support the implementation of category strategy - influencing senior stakeholders across Commercial, Brand, Innovation & Development and wider Category teams. This is a highly strategic role, focused on driving growth through thought leadership at both private label and brand level.
- Develop and deliver category insight-to-action plans aligned to strategic objectives
- Analyse KPI performance, market data and competitor intelligence to identify growth opportunities
- Lead and manage qualitative and quantitative consumer research projects
- Translate complex data from multiple sources into clear, compelling narratives
- Produce monthly brand and board reports with actionable recommendations
- Identify macro trends and shifts in consumer behaviour to inform long-term strategy
- Segment shopper personas to support targeted brand and category development
- Partner cross-functionally to convert vision into tangible commercial and innovation work streams
- Manage external research agencies and ensure robust methodologies are applied
- Influence senior stakeholders with insight-led recommendations
- Proven experience in consumer insight, category management or data analytics
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn data into a clear story and “what next” recommendations
- Experience working with multiple data sources and industry insight tools
- Skilled in managing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative research
- Strategic thinker with excellent presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Confident influencing across complex organisations
- Commercial awareness with a passion for category growth
- Experience with in FMCG or food manufacturing is highly desirable.
Location & Travel The role is flexible but ideally based within easy access to Bristol (home site). Occasional travel to customer and site locations will be required, with overnight stays as needed. Full-time, 39 hours per week, with flexibility to meet business needs.
