Position: STREET TEAM LEAD

Lakota is one of Bristol’s most iconic nightlife and event spaces, with a long-standing place in the city’s underground music culture.

We’re looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused Street Team Lead to help build and manage our flyering team, making sure our events are promoted properly across the city and that street promotion is delivered with energy, accountability and purpose.

This is a flexible, paid role working across Lakota, Moon Club, Coroners Court and selected wider projects where relevant.

The role sits operationally within Operations, while working closely with Marketing on campaign priorities, locations, messaging, routes and performance review.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is responsible for both:

  • Building the street team and onboarding process
  • Managing and improving delivery over time

The first stage of the role will focus on:

  • Recruiting and onboarding staff
  • Testing systems and processes
  • Running smaller-scale activity during summer

The wider recruitment push and active trial period will take place from September onwards once students return and the wider staffing pool increases.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Setup & onboarding
  • Recruit and build an initial street team
  • Reach out to warm leads and source new candidates
  • Plan and run onboarding session(s) at the club
  • Train staff on:
    • Locations and routes
    • Communication and approach
    • Expectations and standards
    • Process requirements (Strava, forms, verification etc.)
  • Introduce incentives, perks and team culture
  • Filter out unreliable or unsuitable staff early
Ongoing role
  • Fill and manage flyering shifts
  • Maintain staff quality and reliability
  • Ensure all staff are properly briefed
  • Review post-shift submissions and verification
  • Maintain tracking and reporting systems
  • Work with Marketing to improve routes, locations and timings
  • Carry out occasional spot checks on active shifts to ensure delivery standards are being met
  • Provide live feedback and coaching to staff where needed
  • Help build a positive and motivated team culture through recognition, incentives and rewards
  • Flag operational, safety or staffing issues where needed
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Organised and reliable
  • Proactive and hands‑on
  • Comfortable giving feedback and maintaining standards across a team
  • Comfortable working within nightlife and event environments
  • Interested in music, culture and Bristol nightlife
  • Comfortable using basic digital tools and admin systems
  • Must have access to their own laptop for scheduling, tracking, reporting and communication

Experience in events, promotions, nightlife or hospitality is helpful, but not essential.

We care more about attitude, initiative, communication and reliability than formal experience.

PAY & BENEFITS
  • £14 per hour
  • Guestlist access at selected Lakota events
  • Access to selected partner events where available
  • Behind‑the‑scenes experience within Bristol nightlife and events
  • Opportunity to build experience across marketing, promotions, events and operations
  • Opportunity to help shape and grow a new street team structure from the ground up
  • Potential for further work across Lakota projects if the trial is successful
TIME COMMITMENT
Summer setup phase

Approx. 20–30 hours across onboarding, recruitment and systems setup.

Ongoing role
  • Baseline: 8 hours per week
  • Additional hours during peak periods only and agreed in advance

Peak periods may include:

  • Freshers
  • Halloween
  • Block Party
WHY JOIN LAKOTA

Lakota has been part of Bristol’s nightlife and music culture for decades, supporting underground music, community projects and emerging talent across the city.

We’re committed to diversity, inclusivity and creating spaces that reflect Bristol’s creative community. Working here means being part of a team that values music, culture, self‑expression and community.

TRIAL STRUCTURE

This role is being introduced on an initial paid trial basis so we can test the structure, systems and operational value before committing to it as a longer–term role.

Summer

Setup, recruitment, onboarding and systems testing, with smaller‑scale activity delivered by a core group.

September

Main recruitment push and onboarding once students return and the wider staffing pool increases.

Active Trial

A 4–6 week active trial period will begin once the wider street team is operational.

Continuation of the role beyond the trial period will depend on delivery, reliability, accountability, operational value and overall effectiveness.
