The Role
The overall objective for the Operations Manager is to successfully manage Project teams and associated supply chain members, to deliver compliant capital & retrofit works to the required quality standards, specification, budget and within the agreed timescale.
This client has ambitious growth plans and need to recruit an Operations Manager to oversee projects in our Central and Southern region, therefore travel to different sites will be needed, although you will be based at their Bristol location.
The Client
A market leader in capital and retrofit programmes within the social housing sector and are specialists in works to high rise / high risk buildings. Current projects include a £20m retrofit programme (recladding and roofing) to 4 high rise blocks in Bristol and £6m retrofit projects to 400 properties including PV, CWI, EWI, ASHO, roofing replacements and gas installation upgrades.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and vision to promote the company brand within our chosen market place
• Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management.
• Lead and monitor project strategies to achieve the company’s sustainability objectives.
• Identify and manage commercial risk
• Develop relationships with client representatives, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Develop excellent relationships with the supply chain
• Recruit, train, develop, motivate retain high quality staff to deliver high levels of service delivery.
• Provide technical support and advice to the client and project team.
• Ensure a robust strategy is in place for dealing with complaints and managing defects.
• Ensure robust strategy for delivering quality throughout project lifecycle with Zero defects as a target on handover.
Requirements
• Experience of delivering capital works and larger scale projects, utilising subcontract/supply chain support.
• Experience of managing multiple projects with experience in works to high rise/ high risk buildings including external façade systems, roofing, fire remediation and fire protections systems, structural works , groundworks, concrete repairs, internal refurbishment etc.
• Extensive end to end project management experience gained in a similar environment. Preconstruction and construction experience essential.
• Experience of retrofit projects delivered to PAS
2035 or similar standards.
• Valid UK driving licence Desirable Criteria
• SMSTS & knowledge of safe systems of work.
• Scaffold inspection
• Role Appropriate CSCS card
• First Aid at work certificate
