Location: Bristol | Hybrid working
Salary: Up to £50,000 + package
Contract: Full‑time, Permanent
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to build a long‑term career working on secure, high‑profile Defence construction projects.
Our client is a well‑established construction contractor delivering complex projects in highly regulated environments. They are looking to appoint a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to support project delivery, cost control, and commercial performance across Defence schemes based in the South West.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of Defence projects from pre‑contract through to final account.
You will:
- Assist with cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting
- Manage subcontractor packages, valuations, and payments
- Support change control, variations, and cost recovery
- Work closely with project teams to manage risk and maximise value
- Ensure compliance with contract and commercial procedures
- Contribute to the successful commercial delivery of secure projects
This role will suit a degree‑qualified Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a more challenging and rewarding environment.
You will bring:
- An undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Around 4 years’ experience working within a commercial department
- Good understanding of construction commercial processes
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to engage with project teams
Defence experience is advantageous but not essential — the right attitude and commercial foundation are key.
