The Project
You will play a key role on a £30m high-tech healthcare development in Bristol. This scheme involves complex building services coordination, specialist installations, and high-specification design standards, making it a standout project within the South West construction market.
Working within a collaborative and experienced project team, you will take ownership of the design process from pre-construction through to delivery, ensuring programme, quality, and compliance targets are achieved.
Senior Design Manager
– Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the design process on a £30m healthcare construction project
* Coordinate consultant teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
* Drive design programme to meet key project milestones
* Manage risk, compliance, and technical approvals
* Ensure design solutions are practical, cost-effective, and buildable
* Oversee BIM coordination and technical integration
* Support commercial and operational teams throughout delivery
Senior Design Manager – Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager on large construction projects
* Experience delivering healthcare, laboratory, or technically complex schemes preferred
* Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction standards
* Tier 1 or large main contractor experience desirable
* Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills
* Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
