Bennett & Game are delighted to be working with a well-established regional contractor based in the Bristol area, who are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
The business has a turnover of circa £8M - £10M and delivers a diverse range of projects across commercial, industrial and public sector sectors, typically within a 1-hour radius of Bristol. Schemes range from £500k to £2.5M and include both groundworks packages and commercial build projects.
With a strong pipeline of secured work, repeat local clients and a collaborative, hands‑on culture, this is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive contractor offering long‑term career development and stability.
Quantity Surveyor Salary & Benefits- Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE

- Manage the commercial aspects of multiple groundworks and commercial build projects (£500k - £2.5M)
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts
- Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages
- Management of subcontractor accounts, variations and payments
- Cost planning, forecasting and monthly reporting
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Liaise with clients, consultants and supply chain partners - Work closely with Site Managers and Directors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Job Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment
- Groundworks contractor experience preferred, although candidates with strong groundworks exposure from other sectors will be considered
- Experience working on projects between £500k - £2.5M advantageous
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and organisational ability
- Full UK driving licence
- Based within commuting distance of the Bristol area
This role is open to established Quantity Surveyors as well as strong Assistant Quantity Surveyors looking to step up into a QS position within a supportive and growing business.
