Senior Building Surveyor

Are you an experienced Building Surveyor, seeking your next career move? My client has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to join their Education Maintenance Team on a permanent basis. The successful applicant will manage building work on Education facilities in compliance with current legislation and regulations. Responsibilities:
Utilise NEC4, SFG
20, Job Logic, and Fast Draft systems on a daily basis to support the delivery of the Hard FM contract, alongside the use of Concerto for broader asset management functions. Provide comprehensive support in maintaining properties under the department’s responsibility, ensuring buildings remain fit for purpose and all works comply with current legislation. Act as consultant, within the terms of Service Agreements with other departments to manage building repairs, maintenance and refurbishment.

Fulfil the role of Planning Supervisor and Designer of projects subject to the Construction Design and Management Regulations 1994, ensuring compliance with legal responsibilities. Undertake condition surveys to formulate maintenance programmes with budget costing. Liaise with Chief Officers or their representatives to prioritise and produce agreed works programmes. Demonstrate a general understanding of asbestos awareness, including types of asbestos, location and likely occurrence of asbestos and asbestos-containing materials;

risk minimisation strategies; and procedures for dealing with emergencies such as uncontrolled asbestos dust release in the workplace Requirements:
Hold an academic qualification recognised as being suitable for Corporate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or equivalent professional qualification.

Experience of project management at a senior level, relevant experience in the repair, refurbishment, improvement and general maintenance of buildings, including the ability to prepare specifications, drawings, including feasibility studies. Thorough understanding and experience of Health and Safety issues and requirements related to the 1994 CDM regulations including the duties associated with the role of Planning Supervisor and Designer.
