The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an ambitious and proactive Assistant Site Manager to support the successful delivery of high-quality residential developments. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced construction environment, working alongside experienced site management teams on a variety of projects.

From large-scale new-build housing developments to complex regeneration and refurbishment schemes, no two projects are the same. The role offers exposure to all aspects of site operations, from programme management and quality control to health & safety, customer care, and subcontractor coordination.

Reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day management of construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

* Assisting with the coordination of subcontractors, direct labour, and material deliveries to ensure build programmes remain on schedule.

* Supporting the Site Manager in overseeing daily construction activities and maintaining productivity across all phases of the build process.

* Working closely with the Sales team to ensure effective communication between construction and sales functions, attending regular build progress meetings and carrying out inspections of show homes where required.

* Monitoring workmanship and quality standards across the development, ensuring all homes meet company and industry requirements before handover.

* Helping to maintain a safe working environment by ensuring all health, safety, and environmental procedures are followed on site.

* Supporting the management of labour, plant, materials, and resources to maximise efficiency and control costs.

* Assisting with site inspections and ensuring any defects or issues are identified and resolved promptly.

* Taking ownership of delegated site management responsibilities and deputising for the Site Manager when required.

* Contributing to the development and motivation of on-site teams by promoting clear communication, good working practices, and a positive site culture.

* Delivering an exceptional customer experience through proactive communication and the timely resolution of customer-related matters.

Candidate Requirements

* To be considered for this position, candidates should be able to demonstrate:

* Previous experience within a residential construction environment, ideally in a supervisory or assistant site management capacity.

* A strong understanding of construction processes, site operations, and health & safety regulations.

* Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

* Confidence in coordinating subcontractors and site resources effectively.

* A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

* Commitment to delivering quality workmanship and outstanding customer service.

* Relevant site management qualifications and certifications, including SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid, would be advantageous.
