Site Engineer

We are looking for a main contractor's Site Engineer for a 10 year construction project in Long Ashton, just south of Bristol, a flagship, 90-acre R&D campus and office complex being built for a prestigious US pharmaceutical firm. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in accurate setting out, spots problems early and enjoys working closely with site teams and subcontractors.

Reporting to Project Manager, you will turn design information into work on the ground, l setting out the works, checking drawings, monitoring quality and testing, and inspecting work before and after concrete pours. You will also help keep construction on programme, resolve technical issues on site and maintain clear, traceable records. The role is with a main contractor about to celebrate its 70th anniversary known for a culture of being engineering-driven and offering great career progression to successful team members.

Candidate essentials At least three years recent experience as a Site Engineer, including experience coordinating RC frame subcontractors.

Strong setting-out skills, attention to detail and experience using AutoCAD. A degree or HND/HNC/BTEC in building, civil or construction engineering. A full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK and Republic of Ireland Experience in temporary works, a CSCS or SMSTS qualification, and First Aid at Work would be welcome and knowledge of the Gateway software package is preferred.

With interviews available from Monday 28th September, salary is a competitive £50k to £55k plus car or allowance, plus package, and the role can be taken up either immediately or after a month's notice period.
