Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Easton

An established national M&E building services contractor is hiring a Senior Mechanical Estimator into its Warrington office, to lead mechanical pricing on its major tenders. The pipeline behind the role is the reason it exists. A £350m healthcare scheme starts in 2027, a £40m residential scheme is already live in Manchester, and a £20m heritage scheme is in progress, with a steady flow of new tenders alongside them.

The business was founded in the late 1950s, turns over just shy of £100m and employs over 100 people directly, with offices across England, Scotland and Ireland and Warrington as its North-West base. Lead mechanical estimates on large healthcare, residential and heritage tenders Review drawings, specifications and tender documents to define the mechanical scope Carry out and check take-offs for heating, ventilation, cooling, plumbing, drainage and associated services Request prices from suppliers and subcontractors, then analyse and compare the returns Coordinate with the electrical estimating team on combined M&E submissions Identify risks, exclusions and value engineering opportunities Present estimates at tender reviews and support post-tender negotiations Mentor less experienced estimators as the team grows Hand won work to the delivery team with a clear record of how it was priced A strong mechanical estimating background, at senior level or close to it A track record pricing large mechanical packages for main contractors Solid technical knowledge of mechanical building services Confident with estimating software and take-off tools Able to manage several large tenders and competing deadlines at once A relevant qualification such as an HNC, or an apprenticeship background A full UK driving licence Healthcare, residential or heritage experience is an advantage, but the scale of the packages you have priced matters more.

If you are slightly short of senior level and the rest fits, the client is open to the conversation. £60,000 to £75,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package Flexible hours Monday to Thursday, with a 1pm finish on Fridays A senior role with scope to shape and develop the estimating team Work delivered through main contractor relationships that have run for decades In-house design capability and over 1,000 approved subcontractors behind your pricing A pipeline that is already secured rather than hoped for Nothing is sent to the client until you have seen who they are and said yes.

Apply through this advert, then speak to Mike Halliwell to find out more about the business before you take it any further.
