The Role

This position is a crucial addition to our new business and marketing team, focusing primarily on editorial content creation – not for our clients, but for our own marketing purposes.

Where does the editorial aspect come in? Well, part of the agency’s new website will be a content ‘hub’ that will be home to a constantly growing and evolving variety of content that showcases our thinking, our opinions and our expertise.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, and collaborating closely with individuals and teams across the agency, your editorial mindset and passion for writing will play a vital role in making this hub the fulcrum of Shaped By’s marketing activity – raising the agency’s profile, attracting new clients, championing the opinions and perspectives of our senior leaders, and supporting the sales pipeline with high-quality, on‑brand communications.

We are preferably looking for someone with at least some content marketing experience. But what we’re after more than anything is a passion for storytelling, a journalistic approach to uncovering truths and insights, and a genuine flair for the written word.

If you can demonstrate this, then in return you’ll get bags of opportunities to take ownership of the agency’s verbal brand, and play with it across a variety of channels and content.

Oh, and we don’t mind at all if you use AI as a sparring partner – as long as the end result is unmistakably you and undeniably Shaped By.

Key Responsibilities:

This role is centred around developing and executing high-impact B2B content, with a strong emphasis on copywriting excellence.

  • Original Copywriting: Take key themes and topics, and proactively plan and write clear, compelling, and persuasive copy for various marketing channels and formats, including blog posts, website content, email campaigns, podcast show notes, industry reports, press releases and case studies.
  • Social Content: Craft engaging social media posts for platforms like Linked In, Instagram and You Tube, ensuring all content aligns with our brand and tone of voice.
  • Thought Leadership: Work with our internal Subject Matter Experts to take their viewpoints, opinions and perspectives and turn them into actionable content ideas and pieces.
  • Video/audio content management: Assist in the editing (where necessary) and scheduling/uploading of our media content, such as podcasts and video pieces.
  • Design Coordination: Brief the design studio on required creative assets, ensuring a strong alignment between copy and visual concepts.
  • Proofreading & Editing: Review and proofread content for grammar, style, and brand consistency, ensuring high editorial standards are always met.
What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will combine foundational content marketing experience with exceptional writing talent, a hunger to learn, and a highly organised approach.

  • Exceptional Copywriting: A portfolio demonstrating strong writing samples across various formats, with excellent grammar, impeccable spelling, and experience of adapting style and tone for different target audiences.
