Join the team behind Green Planet II, a new BBC landmark series, researching plant-animal interactions and coordinating overseas filming.
We are looking for a researcher with a knowledge of plant-animal interactions and in particular experience of setting up, and going on, overseas shoots as we are now in our busiest period of filming.
YourKey Responsibilities and Impact
You will need to be highly creative and organised with good storytelling skills. You will have the ability to take an innovative, ambitious and imaginative approach to developing outstanding content ideas.
As well as researching blue‑chip animal behaviour sequences we need good team players to work alongside existing Producers, Assistant Producers and other researchers.
Essential Criteria- Experience of setting up international natural‑history film shoots and working overseas in challenging environments and you will be expected to travel overseas for extended periods of time.
- Ability to generate ideas and find stories from around the world and present them to the producers you will be working with.
- Strong interest in clear written storytelling, ideally with demonstrated skill of turning scientific ideas and discoveries into accessible and interesting stories for the public.
- Ability to work independently but also with great team working skills and ability to forge relationships with external partners (eg scientists and conservation groups).
- Experience working on behaviour‑led landmark Natural History series for a mainstream audience with a track record of finding new, emotionally engaging behavioural stories for television.
- High organisational skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate with a large team, but also confidence to work well independently.
- Good understanding of new technology (e.g. motion control, timelapse, macro filming) is essential.
