Position: Architect (Workplace)

We have an excellent opportunity for someone to join our Bristol or Bath team.

The opportunity

We are seeking an architect to join our award‑winning offices and workplace team designing and delivering a growing workload of significant new build and retrofit projects in the region.

Your skills and experience
  • ARB registered Architect with a minimum of 3 years’ post qualification UK experience.
  • Experience designing and delivering office & workplace projects
  • All‑round experience from concept to delivery
  • A collaborative approach, and experience working with large multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication skills – including drawing and presentation skills and the ability to explain a design idea and evolution of a concept.
  • Two years’ experience using Revit as prime software.
  • Advanced knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Experience in 3D visualisation (Lumion or Enscape) desirable, but not essential
Key responsibilities
  • Take a brief from a client and develop an efficient and effective design using robust and sustainable design solutions, which is compliant with UK Buildings Regulations and Construction Law, British Standards and relevant CoPs.
  • Choose or advise on material selection and assist in writing NBS specifications
  • Assist in preparing statutory submissions, such as Planning, Building Regulations and Building Safety Gateways
  • Negotiate with statutory bodies, write reports and complete statutory submissions (Planning Applications / Gateway submissions / Building Regulations etc)
  • Attend meetings and workshops with Clients, Designers, Contractors, and other Specialists
  • Support the Project Lead with the maintenance of the Design Risk Registers
