Landscape Architect

Opportunity

Arup’s award‑winning Landscape Architecture practice in Bristol and Cardiff is expanding. We are looking for a Landscape Architect to design, develop, and lead projects across the Mid‑West Region, based in Bristol or Cardiff. The role involves delivering professional services across infrastructure, transport, urban regeneration, and green building schemes, often collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managing projects independently.

The ideal candidate is passionate about landscape, has curiosity and personal drive, and can combine technical know‑how with an understanding of the industry. They will be able to work independently and creatively, understand project briefs, sketch and hand‑draw ideas, and travel to sites by public transport or hire car as required. A valid UK driving licence is required.

• Degree in landscape architecture or a related discipline; working towards CMLI accreditation or willingness to start the P2C.
• Demonstrable professional experience in landscape architecture, ideally within energy, water and transport infrastructure, commercial development, urban regeneration, residential, education, health, historic buildings, and landscape planning strategic policy.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS) and 3D modelling software is advantageous.
• Ability to understand and respond to project briefs and communicate ideas through sketching and hand drawing.
• Strong teamwork skills, particularly within multi‑disciplinary teams that include infrastructure, environment, transport and master planning sectors.
