The Opportunity
We are seeking an ambitious Planner or Senior Planner who is looking to take the next step in their consultancy career.
This role offers genuine project ownership, client exposure, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced senior leaders on complex and high-profile developments.
You will be embedded within project teams and act as a key point of contact for clients, contributing directly to the delivery of planning strategies from early feasibility through to consent and delivery stages.
Role Overview
You will play a central role in supporting and leading planning projects, working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues across planning, design and development teams.
The role offers strong exposure to the full development lifecycle and the opportunity to build long-term client relationships while developing technical and commercial expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Support and/or lead planning applications, appeals and site appraisals
Prepare high-quality planning reports, statements and supporting documents
Act as a key point of contact for clients and external stakeholders
Work collaboratively with internal and external multidisciplinary teams
Contribute to planning strategies for a range of development types
Support consultation processes and engagement with local authorities
Assist senior team members on complex and strategic planning projects
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Essential Skills & Experience
Degree in Town Planning or related discipline
RTPI qualified (or close to chartership for Planner level)
Experience with in a consultancy or local authority planning environment
Strong understanding of the UK planning system and policy framework
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively
Client-facing experience with good stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable
Experience across residential, regeneration, mixed-use or infrastructure projects
Exposure to planning committees or public consultation processes
Experience supporting or leading planning applications in a consultancy setting
