Consultant in Gynaecological Oncology

The appointment is for a substantive 10 PA Consultant in Gynaecological Oncology and lead for gynaecological oncology research. The post is based at St Michael’s Hospital.

• Participate as a full team‑member of the tertiary Gynaecological Oncology team.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient care to patients referred with suspected gynaecological cancer pathways and cervical cancer screening pathways in liaison with Bristol Gynaecological Cancer Centre.
• Treat early‑stage endometrial cancers and microinvasive cervical cancers.
• Provide acute and elective gynaecological care to patients attending St Michael’s Hospital in conjunction with the current consultants.
• Have expertise at consultant level in general gynaecological surgery covering both elective and emergency procedures.
• Participate in emergency ‘hot week’ cover.
• Provide non‑resident on‑call coverage for Gynaecology (1 in 15).

Date for interview will be: 2 April 2026

• Experienced Gynaecological Oncology clinician who has completed sub‑specialty training in Gynaecological Oncology.
• Experience leading national trials and a track record in obtaining research funding.
• Additional ATSMs complementary to the existing department would be welcomed.
• Experience in HIPEC and robotic surgery desirable.
