Job Summary
GP vacancy at Kennedy Way Surgery, Yate (BS37 4AA
). A semi‑rural practice of 12,000 patients that is among the top 10% of UK practices on the 2023 Patient Survey. The role is part‑time (4–8 sessions per week) for a salaried GP.

Contract: Permanent (part‑time)
Working pattern: 4–8 sessions / week
Pay: £11,466 per session, no enhanced access hours or nursing home duties, minimal results (mostly own). Other benefits: 6 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave, bank holidays pro‑rata, medical indemnity and GMC membership paid, fully paid twice‑yearly social events, and future partnership possibility.
Responsibilities- Manage a caseload and provide primary care across a range of services including surgery, telephone and home visits.
- Maintain contemporary clinical practice through prescribing, assessment, care planning, counselling, health education and discharge/referral as required.
- Document consultations accurately and submit audit data as per QOF requirements.
- Contribute to quality improvement, clinical audits and practice development projects.
- Adhere to all practice policies on prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, and equality & diversity.
- Support team learning through training, case discussions and participation in annual review.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary team members.
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree; full registration with GMC.
- Certification of Completion of Training (JCPTGP/PMETB) or equivalent, and membership of MRCGP preferred.
- Experience in primary care, including out‑of‑hours service, and hospital audit.
- Strong organisational, time‑management and IT skills (word processing, database usage).
- Commitment to continuous professional development and patient safety.
