Job
-MSPEC-101. The post is a full‑time consultant radiologist based at High Wycombe Hospital, with the potential for additional general radiology duties and negotiable on‑call.

Job Overview

The role supports the Trust’s busy Breast Imaging service and may involve general radiology. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of 20–24 radiologists and provide imaging support across multiple sites.

Main Duties
  • Deliver breast imaging including screening and symptomatic assessment, and breast interventional procedures (ultrasound‑guided biopsies, wire localisation, aspiration and drainage).
  • Run symptomatic breast clinics independently.
  • Provide general radiology reporting (CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, plain film).
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintain audit and governance of practice.
  • Support training and development of junior staff.
Person Specification / Qualifications
  • FRCR and a subspecialist fellowship in breast imaging.
  • Full GMC registration and entry on the Specialist Register (CCT or CESR – proposed date within 6 months of interview).
  • Experience in screening assessment clinics and symptomatic breast clinics.
  • Experience of breast interventional procedures.
  • Ability to perform image‑guided radiology and management of urgent on‑call cases.
  • Good IT and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and conduct MDTs.
Other Requirements
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Ability to travel between sites.
