About the Role
Axcis Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist alternative provision in Bristol that supports Key Stage 4 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex behavioural challenges. We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them re‑engage with education.
- Support the delivery of individualised learning and behaviour plans alongside teaching and pastoral staff.
- Use de‑escalation and positive behaviour strategies to manage challenging situations safely and effectively.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a consistent, positive role model.
- Support pupils’ emotional regulation, resilience and personal development.
- Has experience working with young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or in alternative provision settings.
- Is calm, empathetic and resilient, with the ability to remain professional under pressure.
- Can communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a wider team.
- Holds relevant training such as Team Teach or a Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (desirable but not essential, training can be provided).

Full‑time, Monday to Friday – term‑time only.
Pay: £95–£105 per day (dependent on experience).
