Axcis Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Bristol to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant for their dedicated resource base, starting mid-January. This specialist provision supports pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, communication difficulties and learning needs.
About the RoleAs a Teaching Assistant within the resource base, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEND needs.
- Support learning activities that develop pupils’ communication, social and academic skills.
- Assist with the delivery and monitoring of EHCP targets.
- Help pupils manage transitions, emotional regulation and daily routines within a calm, nurturing environment.
- Work closely with a skilled and collaborative team of teachers and SEND professionals.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism or communication difficulties.
- Is patient, empathetic and passionate about inclusive education.
- Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Holds relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential).
- Be part of a well-established resource base offering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work alongside an experienced and dedicated SEND team.
- Access ongoing training and professional development through Axcis Education.
