The role
Protocol Education is proud to work with supportive, welcoming schools across South Bristol, and we’re on the lookout for experienced, confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants who genuinely enjoy making a difference in the classroom.
These roles are ideal for HLTAs who like getting stuck in, taking ownership of learning and working closely with teachers to help pupils feel confident, supported and ready to thrive.

Pay: £89 to £94 per day
Location: South Bristol
- HLTA status or solid experience working at HLTA level
- Confident supporting children aged 4 to 11
- Comfortable leading learning and covering lessons when needed
- Calm, organised and supportive in your approach
- Able to adapt learning to support a range of needs, including SEND
- A positive, professional presence in school
- Passport
- Two proofs of address, such as a driving licence, utility bill, council tax bill, P45 or P60
- CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained
- Two years of references, including childcare where applicable
- OSP C if you’ve lived overseas for three months or more in the last five years
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants. We offer FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
