Role Overview
Assist in the development and actively participate in the delivery of core curriculum teaching programmes for all junior medical staff across the Bristol NHS Group, which includes North Bristol NHS Trust and University Hospitals Bristol and Weston.
Responsibilities- One clinical day per week will be offered to individuals who take this post on a full‑time basis. The post holder will become a member of the Postgraduate Medical Education Team and will expand the current faculty of Medical Education Trainers to enable the Trust to become self‑sufficient in terms of delivery of Medical Education.
- Assist with the development and delivery of simulation training for all medical staff where possible, incorporating the wider multi‑disciplinary team, including regular in‑situ simulation training.
- Support the development and delivery of the post‑graduate simulation programme, both internal and external (including regional teaching sessions) as well as existing and future potential new courses.
- Delivery of train‑the‑trainer courses to provide faculty development opportunities.
- Co‑ordinate and deliver interview skills training for foundation and clinical fellow doctors.
- Assist in the organisation and delivery of Foundation in‑house teaching, including F2 regional teaching programmes.
- Undertake the Certificate in Medical Education or higher from an approved University and as part of the course undertake specific projects with relevance to Medical Education within the Bristol Group and the Severn Deanery. A PGME Bursary will partially fund this qualification.
- Undertaken or currently undertaking the Certificate in Medical Education or a higher qualification from an approved University.
- Experience in medical teaching, simulation or faculty development is desirable.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
