We’re working closely with a BS13 secondary school that is strengthening and expanding its support team as part of a clear improvement journey. They’re looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant who genuinely cares about young people and wants to be part of meaningful, long-term change.
For the successful candidate, this role is intended to become permanent.

About the RoleAs a Full-Time Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils in lessons so they can access learning
- Work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Support pupils with additional needs, including SEMH and SEND
- Reinforce teacher instructions and routines
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
- Be a calm, consistent presence throughout the school day
No planning required. Your impact comes from relationships, structure and steady support.
Consistency is everything here.
Who They’re Looking ForSome relevant experience is necessary, but it doesn’t need to be perfect or extensive.
You’ll ideally have:
- ✔️ Experience as a Teaching Assistant in primary, secondary or SEND settings
- ✔️ Strong childcare, youth work or mentoring experience with secondary-aged young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
