Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant - 1 Hour

Overview

, we are expanding our Support Staff Team and welcoming new colleagues to be part of this exciting next chapter.

Position:
Class Based Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking to appoint Class Based Higher Level Teaching Assistants. Briarwood has a dedicated team of staff, governors and parents/carers who are proud to support 167 children and young people aged 3 to 19 years and are passionate about their progress, happiness and care. You will be required to work with a range of pupils who have severe and profound learning difficulties.

A large number of our pupils have challenging behaviours and are within the Autistic Spectrum or have high medical needs.

Responsibilities
  • Use a reflective approach to learners, their learning and needs.
  • Work creatively and proactively to engage learners.
  • Show emotional resilience and the ability to engage learners with challenging behaviours.
  • Support the classroom team in delivering inclusive education.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Commitment to inclusion and a positive attitude.
  • Experience and knowledge working with children within a special needs setting is desirable.
  • Ability to work with a range of pupils with high medical and behavioural needs.
Terms & Conditions

Permanent positions, 1 hour per week + additional hours as and when required. Term time only, working 39 weeks (including 5 inset days). 13 weeks school holidays of which 6.6 weeks paid as annual leave. No entitlement to annual leave during term. Salary dependent on Local Government continuous service.
