An effective team player who is dynamic, creative and able to play a significant role in the strategic direction and development of the academy? We are looking for an experienced Associate Assistant Principal to join our supportive and talented leadership team at Kings Oak Academy.

Alongside the role of AAP, this role oversees the SEN needs for the all through academy, with a deputy SENCO within the team.

• Have professional knowledge of what constitutes high quality and standards in teaching and learning.
• Have the ability to write reports, keep accurate records and communicate effectively.
• Have proven ability as an excellent classroom teacher.
• Thrive as an experienced leader in an aspect of whole school development.
• Enjoy leading and managing a team.
• Understand clearly the curriculum and assessment of pupil progress.

Kings Oak Academy is situated in the heart of the South Gloucestershire community and is within easy commuting distance of Bristol and Bath. The academy has been part of the Cabot Learning Federation since 2011 and enjoys the benefits of being part of a mature, successful multi-academy trust, offering access to high-quality professional services and opportunities to work collaboratively with experienced colleagues across the trust.

As an all-through school, Kings Oak is in a privileged position to educate children aged 4-16 and to support families over time. The academy’s staff structure and estate are organised into three phases (Lower School: Reception to Year 4; Middle School: Years 5-8; Upper School: Years 9-11). This structure ensures that learning is high quality and responsive to pupils development needs, long-term relationships are fostered with families and colleagues benefit from the distinctive professional development and leadership opportunities that come from working in an all-through community school.

Kings Oak was inspected in June 2025 and secured an Outstanding judgement in both Leadership and Management and Personal Development. Inspectors noted that pupils thrive at Kings Oak Academy.
