Salary: F7-11 (Pro-rata)

Hours:

24 hours a week
Working weeks: 39
Days a week: 4 days a week. Open to discussion of days.

What skills and experience we are looking for

We are seeking an inspirational and nurturing individual who is highly motivated and resilient, ready to support our wonderful children at Studley Infants. The ideal candidate will be flexible, patient, and experienced in working with children with additional needs, with a strong foundation in early years education. A commitment to fostering a love of learning and nurturing children’s natural curiosity is essential.

Experience in supporting children’s social and emotional development through a trauma informed approach would be highly beneficial.

You will be responsible for:
  • Support with learning within the classroom
  • Specific support for individual children and/or groups of children that have Education and Health Care Plans
  • Assist teachers with the delivery of lessons, including taking the class to enable the teacher to work with individual and groups of children.
  • Contributing to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children
Your qualities will include:
  • Recognised NVQ level 2 qualification
  • Experience as a teaching assistant
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs
  • Skilled and experienced at supporting social and emotional needs of children
  • Ability to use initiative, be flexible, communicate effectively and work as a team
  • Displaying commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people

As this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check with a Barred List check. Our pre-employment process will also include Teacher Prohibition List checks, overseas checks (where applicable); proof of qualifications (as specified in the person specification); section 128 checks (for those in management roles); medical fitness checks;

identity and right to work checks. Applicants for roles working with children under five years during the school day and under eight years for those working in wraparound care will also be subject to Childcare Disqualification checks.
