About the Role

We are looking for a patient, resilient and nurturing individual to provide 1:1 behaviour support for a child with specific social, emotional, and behavioural needs. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider pastoral team to help the pupil access learning, regulate emotions, and develop positive behaviours.

This is a rewarding position for someone who is committed to supporting children who require additional care, structure, and encouragement to thrive in school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Implement personalised behaviour strategies and regulation routines
  • Build a trusting, positive relationship with the pupil
  • Encourage engagement with learning and participation in class
  • Use positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques
  • Work collaboratively with staff to track progress and share observations
  • Support the pupil in transitions, playtime, and emotional regulation
  • Maintain a safe, calm and inclusive environment

  • Is calm, patient, and adaptable
  • Has experience supporting children with behavioural or SEMH needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Can build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
  • Has a warm and encouraging approach
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Is proactive, reliable and committed to pupil wellbeing
