Overview
The School of Social Sciences at UWE, Bristol is seeking a permanent Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology. The role is campus‑based and works within the Psychology team delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes accredited by the BPS, HCPC and BACP.
Contract DetailsSenior Lecturer – 0.6 FTE (≈3 days per week) or Lecturer – 0.7 FTE (≈3.5 days per week). Applicants may request alternative arrangements if professional practice commitments require discussion.
Responsibilities- Teach and supervise MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology modules, such as Professional Practice in Sports Psychology and Contemporary Issues in Sport Psychology.
- Draw on professional practice to enrich teaching and the student experience.
- Foster relational learning environments that reflect the values of psychological practice.
- Contextualise core theoretical concepts through real‑world sport and exercise settings.
- Inject creativity and emerging developments in sport and exercise psychology into teaching.
- Support the wider Psychology Team where appropriate.
- Participate in an internal programme of study to achieve a PGCert in Higher Education, with the aim of gaining HEA Fellowship within two years of appointment.
- HCPC registered Sport Psychologist (or nearing completion of a training pathway, e.g., BPS Stage 2 or CASES SEPAR).
- Experience in professional practice, teaching and research supervision.
- Evidence of ability to contribute to and lead MSc modules.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Unable to provide sponsorship; UWE does not cover visa or health surcharge costs.
