Communication Support Worker; BSL

South West/ temporary / £14.25 - 18.00 per hour

Teacher Active is working with a specialist educational setting in Bristol that is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for both staff and students.

The school will appoint a Communication Support Worker (BSL) on either a part‑time or full‑time basis from September 2026 until August 2027, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will support Deaf and hard of hearing colleagues by providing BSL/English and English/BSL interpretation to ensure effective communication and accessibility across the school.

• Provide BSL/English and English/BSL interpretation for staff and students.
• Assist with communication during classes, meetings and school events.
• Support staff in using appropriate communication strategies.
• Travel between school sites as required and work flexibly.

• NVQ Level 6 qualification or equivalent in BSL Interpretation.
• Registration as an RSLI or TSLI.
• Proven ability to interpret BSL/English and English/BSL.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently.

Travel between school sites is required and flexibility in work hours is necessary.
