We are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Bath and the surrounding areas. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with additional learning needs.
About the RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a variety of needs including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Physical and sensory needs
You may work on a one-to-one basis, support small groups, or assist within the classroom to ensure every child can access learning and reach their individual goals.
Key Responsibilities- Support pupils with SEN in their learning and development.
- Deliver tailored interventions and learning activities.
- Build positive relationships that promote confidence and engagement.
- Assist teachers in adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
- Encourage independence, communication, and social development.
- Monitor and record pupil progress.
- Support behaviour positively and consistently.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, childcare, care, youth work, or support settings.
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils.
- Genuine enthusiasm for supporting children with additional needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
- Previous SEN Teaching Assistant experience.
- Knowledge of autism-friendly and inclusive practices.
- Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs.
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Psychology, Health & Social Care, or Youth Work.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
