Teaching Assistant (ELSA Trained) - ASC SEN School, South Bristol

Vision for Education is seeking an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant with ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) training to join a specialist SEN school in South Bristol, supporting primary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

This is a full-time role starting on a supply basis through Vision for Education and is highly likely to become a permanent position for the right candidate
, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in specialist education.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support primary-aged pupils with ASC on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Use your ELSA training to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, resilience and social development.
• Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities.
• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and the wider SEN team to provide the best outcomes for pupils.

To be considered for the role, you will:

• Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant.
• Hold a recognised ELSA qualification.
• Have experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition or other additional needs (desirable).
• Be patient, empathetic and resilient.
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
