Do you have experience supporting student welfare, attendance and behaviour, and a commitment to helping young people achieve their potential in education?

CLF is currently seeking a professional and ambitious individual with a passion for improving outcomes and school experiences for young people.

The Pastoral Support Officer is a key contact for a cohort of students; this may be a year group or another defined group. The role focuses on promoting welfare, attendance, achievement and positive behaviour, identifying safeguarding concerns, and ensuring students have the best opportunity to thrive and succeed.

About you

You will be:

  • A passionate individual who wants to be a part of transforming education and will make an active contribution to the development of the Cabot Learning Federation and chosen Academy.
  • Able to establish effective relationships with designated students both 1:1 and in groups, using mentoring and intervention strategies to support their social, emotional and educational development.
  • Able to provide information, advice, guidance and targeted support to help students make positive choices about behaviour, attendance and social interactions.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to embrace change and motivate colleagues and students.
  • Competent in literacy and numeracy (evidenced by GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, equivalent qualifications and/or experience).
  • Experienced in supporting student welfare, attendance and behaviour, and working effectively with families, colleagues and external agencies to remove barriers to learning.

Safeguarding is a key area of this role. You will be confident in identifying concerns, responding appropriately and working in line with safeguarding policies and procedures. Relevant training will be provided where required.

Please note: the ability to attend meetings and students homes is an essential part of this role so a full driving licence and use of vehicle will be required.

Applicants are advised to refer to the full requirements of the role in the attached job description and person specification, prior to submitting an application.
