Position: Secondary SEN/SEMH Support South

We're working with a welcoming secondary school in South Bristol that is looking to appoint two Learning Support Assistants to join its inclusion team from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a genuine difference to students' confidence, wellbeing and progress in school.

The school is looking for caring, patient and adaptable individuals who can build positive relationships and support students to overcome barriers to learning.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider inclusion team to help students engage with learning and feel successful in school.

Some students may require support within lessons, while others may benefit from small-group interventions or individual mentoring sessions focused on confidence, emotional wellbeing and personal development.

No two days are quite the same, but every day offers the opportunity to have a positive impact.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting students in lessons to access learning and remain engaged
  • Breaking down tasks and adapting support to suit individual needs
  • Delivering literacy and numeracy interventions in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • Building confidence, resilience and independence
  • Supporting students with emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement with learning
  • Working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams

Working Hours
  • 30 hours per week
