Send Learning Support Assistant

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Bromley Heath is searching for an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile
.

This is a permanent opportunity for someone who understands that progress isn't always measured in worksheets completed. Sometimes it's a smile, a moment of trust, or helping a child tackle something they didn't think they could do yesterday.

You’ll become part of a caring school community where positive relationships come first and every child is encouraged to thrive in their own way.

• Providing consistent 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil throughout the school day.
• Using your knowledge of ASD and PDA to adapt your approach and build trust.
• Encouraging independence while supporting learning, emotional regulation and wellbeing.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver personalised support.
• Helping create a calm, predictable and engaging learning environment.

• Previous experience supporting children with ASD and PDA
  .
• A calm, patient and flexible approach to supporting individual needs.
• Confidence working collaboratively with school staff and families.
• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service
  .
• At least 24 months of referenceable employment or education history
  .

, giving you the practical skills and confidence to start your new role fully prepared.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
