We are seeking compassionate and resilient individuals to join schools as SEN/SEMH Assistants
, supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a highly rewarding role experienced Teaching Assistants, and for graduates and individuals considering careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Teaching, Youth Work, Social Work
, or related fields.

As an SEN/SEMH Assistant, you ll work closely with students who may require additional support managing their emotions, behaviour, communication, or learning needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Building positive and trusted relationships with students
• Supporting emotional regulation and social development
• Helping students engage with learning and classroom activities
• Working collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff
• Encouraging confidence, independence, and resilience
• Acting as a positive role model throughout the school day

We're particularly interested in hearing from individuals with backgrounds in:

• Education
• Psychology
• Criminology
• Sociology
• Health & Social Care
• Childhood Studies
• Youth Work
• Support Work
• Mental Health Support
• Residential Care
• Coaching and Mentoring

However, the most important qualities are empathy, patience, resilience, and a genuine desire to help young people overcome barriers to education.

• A degree or relevant experience working with young people
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A calm, proactive, and positive approach
• The ability to remain resilient in challenging situations
• A genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs
• Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, from September

Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential
