We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our supportive and talented team at John Cabot Academy, part of the Cabot Learning Federation. As a thriving and ambitious academy, we are committed to providing an exceptional education for every student and are seeking professionals who share our passion for helping young people achieve their full potential.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes and small groups during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged in learning and complete the work set. You will support students to understand lesson activities, maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, and minimise disruption to students' progress. When not covering lessons, you will provide wider classroom support, including working with students who require additional help and contributing to intervention programmes, examinations and other student-facing activities.
Aboutyou
You will be someone who is passionate about supporting young people and creating a positive learning environment. You'll be confident managing classes, building strong relationships with students and staff, and adapting quickly to different situations.
You will have:
- Experience of working with children and young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues.
- The ability to build positive learning relationships and maintain high standards of behaviour and conduct.
- Experience of interpreting information and supporting the delivery of lesson plans and curriculum activities effectively.
- Good organisational, administrative and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and respond positively to changing priorities.
- Confidence in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications.
- An understanding of learning processes, barriers to learning and behaviour management strategies.
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent qualifications).
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and improving outcomes for all students.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a values-driven academy where you can make a lasting impact on students' education and life chances while developing your own skills and experience in a supportive environment.
