Autism support, Education ​/ Teaching

You know those small moments, a breakthrough, a smile, a calm transition, they matter. This role is full of them.

We’re looking for a patient and understanding Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism in a specialist setting. You’ll play a key part in creating a structured, predictable environment where pupils feel safe, supported, and able to engage in their learning.

What you’ll be doing

Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups

Helping with routines, transitions, and sensory needs

Using clear communication and visual strategies

Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists

Experience with autism or SEND, or a real passion to build itA calm, consistent approach, even on the trickier days Someone who notices the small wins and celebrates them Strong teamwork and communication skills

What you’ll getFree autism and SEND training, including CPD opportunities

Ongoing support from a consultant who fully understands SENAccess to a range of specialist settings

Roles starting in September, November & January.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
