Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people and their families?

Bristol Academy South is looking for a dedicated Parent & Family Support Advisor to strengthen partnerships between home and school, helping students overcome barriers to learning, improve attendance, wellbeing and engagement, and achieve their full potential.

Working closely with students, families, academy staff and external agencies, you will provide early intervention, pastoral support and practical guidance, supporting families through challenges that impact educational progress. You will play a key role in promoting positive outcomes, safeguarding vulnerable students and ensuring every child has the support they need to succeed.

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient individual with excellent communication skills, experience of working with children and families, and a commitment to inclusion and student success

Key responsibilities:

• Develop positive, trusting relationships with students, parents and carers, acting as a key point of contact for families requiring additional support.
• Identify families who would benefit from early intervention and coordinate support plans to improve outcomes for students.
• Work with students experiencing attendance, wellbeing, behavioural or family-related challenges, providing pastoral support and guidance.
• Conduct home visits and work collaboratively with academy staff, external agencies and community organisations to remove barriers to learning.
• Maintain accurate records, monitor the impact of interventions and contribute to safeguarding, child protection and multi‑agency support processes

Pay range: SCP
15-21 - £27,278.43 - £30,112.25 - FTE: £31,015.00 - £34,237.00 - 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

Qualifications and Skills:

• GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Experience of working directly with children, young people and families, providing support and intervention.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and positive relationships with families.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection procedures and factors affecting student engagement and educational achievement.
• Ability to manage sensitive situations, de‑escalate challenging conversations and work effectively with a range of professionals and agencies
