Are you passionate about improving outcomes for young people? E-ACT Bristol Academy South is seeking an enthusiastic Education Welfare Officer to champion attendance, safeguarding and student wellbeing. Working closely with families, staff and external agencies, you will remove barriers to education, drive attendance improvements and help every student achieve their full potential.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and resilient professional with experience of working with children, young people and families. You will monitor attendance, conduct home visits and welfare checks, coordinate interventions, support safeguarding processes and contribute to statutory attendance procedures where required.

• Monitor, track and analyse student attendance and punctuality, implementing early intervention strategies to improve outcomes.
• Conduct home visits, welfare checks and investigations into unexplained absences, ensuring appropriate follow-up action.
• Work closely with students, families and external agencies to remove barriers to education and promote engagement.
• Coordinate targeted attendance support and reintegration plans for students at risk of persistent or severe absence.
• Prepare attendance-related documentation, reports and evidence for statutory processes, including penalty notices and legal proceedings

Pay range: SCP
12-16 - £25,982.89 - £27,726.98 - FTE: £29,542.00 - £31,525.00 - 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

• GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Qualification in Education Welfare, Safeguarding, Youth Work, Social Care or a related field.
• Knowledge of attendance legislation, safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Experience working with children, young people and families, including supporting attendance and welfare initiatives.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to analyse attendance data and positively influence attendance outcomes
