Job overviewAbout Us
Amplify Education is a dynamic new multi-academy trust of 21 schools across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset, formed through the thoughtful and planned merger of TiLA and CST. United by a shared vision, we are a bold voice for Bristol - committed to building belief in every young person, expanding opportunities, nurturing potential, and strengthening citizenship.
We are ambitious, reflective, and collaborative - driven to improve outcomes for young people while working together, learning from one another and continually strengthening our practice. If you are looking to make a real difference within a forward-thinking and supportive Trust, Amplify Education could be the place for you.
We invite you to join our team at Bristol Cathedral Choir School. We exist to provide a world-class education for the children of Bristol – so that they leave with a deep understanding of the world around them. The school is a highly oversubscribed state cathedral choir school with a rich history and a Christian ethos. It is a music school, educating choristers for Bristol Cathedral for the past 880 years and offers an enhanced and rich musical experience for all.
The school provides a traditional academic curriculum to its students, regardless of their background or ability, and emphasises the teaching of ‘Powerful Knowledge’.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of Communication and Interaction to join a talented and highly committed SEND team during a period of significant change at the school – moving the school from delivering good educational provision to something that is genuinely world class.
The school serves students from all backgrounds, including those with complex needs. The school has a significantly higher than average number of students with EHCPs along with many others who are on the SEND register. We are looking for an experienced SEND colleague to lead all aspects of communication and interaction provision within the school. The post holder will also engage in student-facing work as part of their role and will also lead on managing the SEND department’s procurement of alternative learning provisions (ALP) based on the finances available.
This role is a part of a job share (3 days per week) and is a maternity cover contract offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months, or until the return of the postholder, whichever is sooner.
About YouThis role requires someone who has a positive disposition , who has attention to detail , who is a rule follower and who is a team player . The role will suit someone who has a good understanding of SEND and a sharp eye for evaluating provisions for cost-effectiveness.
